Tertiary: 750-1000 words

Secondary: 500-700 words

Upper primary: 250-400 words

Lower primary: Just write

Photography & Art

Open to all students

Subject: A4 or larger sized photograph, drawing or painting with caption showing wildlife affected by poaching.

Send your entries for Colleges and Universities to: East African Wildlife Society, P. O. Box, 20110 - 00200, Nairobi.

 
ALL Materials entered in the competition shall become the property of Satima Wildlife Clubs Awards.

2013 SATIMA WILDLIFE CLUBS AWARDS COMPETITION GUIDELINES

The Satima Wildlife Clubs Awards is a merger of two competitions previously organized separately by the Satima Trust and the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya. The competition is open to students currently attending Primary and Secondary Schools as well as those in Colleges and Universities.

To be eligible you must submit your entry with proof that you are currently a student. Such proof can be a letter from your teacher/lecturer or a copy of your current student identity card.

Topic: “What should we do to stop poaching?”

Over the last 50 years, the Society has been successful in influencing natural resources management policies and promoting scaling up of best conservation practices in the region. More about our work, visit www.eawildlife.org

ENTRIES

1.
    Must be original work and must not have been previously published anywhere, with the sole exception of student publications.
2. Plagiarising other people’s work or use of internet materials, except for reference with proper acknowledgement, will be disqualified.
3. Only one entry per student is permitted.
4. Public Speaking: open to college and University students only. Each institution to submit the name of only one contestant.
5. Essay: open to all students and entries must be in English typed or clearly printed double-spaced limited to the number of words specified in the announcement poster for each category.
6. Photography & Art: open to all students and entries should give an impression of wildlife affected by poaching on A4 or larger paper size.
7. All entries become the property of Satima Wildlife Clubs Awards and will not be returned.
8. Closing date: 30th August 2013
8. Finalists will be notified by 31st October 2013.
9. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in December 2013 on a date to be notified.
