Who is the East African Wild Life Society?

Founded in 1961 after 5 years of operating as the Kenya Wild Life Society, the East African Wild Life Society (EAWLS) has been at the forefront of active conservation in the region. With members from the East African Nations and other countries around the world, EAWLS is committed to promoting the conservation and wise use of East Africa’s wildlife and the environment.

What makes EAWLS unique among conservation groups? With the membership dues received:
 

EAWLS influences policy reform through advocacy and publicity

EAWLS helps support national park infrastructure, anti-poaching measures and wildlife sanctuaries


EAWLS provides conservation education and research

EAWLS is involved with community conservation initiatives by helping mobilise funds, build capacity and provision of technical and organisational capacity for sustainable development
